Roy the Gargoyle - Never Bend a
Buck 'Two'
Returning home, Roy's never had so much fun in his entire life. He sits in his chair and watches the news;
Angels and demons pass through the screen. He's used to it. There's a connection between electricity and
the angels. He first noticed it when he fought the creature in Giza, but now he sees it up close and
personal. He figures that the airwaves have something to do with demons and angels. "What's that?" He
turns off the television. His new advanced ears hears the moans and grunts of two people having mad
passionate sex under the soundproof floor, it's Starrlight screaming out chants of excitement. Roy feels
her pleasure, he tastes their lips as they kiss; He sees it clearly as if it was him with her. A new revelation
is found, the angelic ears of the gargoyle experiences a vicarious occasion. After two hours, the beauty
queen escorts a handsome blond haired man to his yellow Lamborghini. The gate opens as the squealing
tires burn the asphalt.

Morning renews; a new day is dawned. Roy returns from Blacksmiths shop, his leather sports a new pair of
steel boots. He scans his schedule; it's almost time for the Catwalk. He tries on the tuxedo. The doorbell
chimes; it's Starrlight. He opens the door to the frisky kitten, "Sugar plum, how are you?" She walks in,
"Wow, this place is awesome!" Walking past him, she doesn't allow him a word. Her eyes bats, "I just love
this place!" Roy follows behind the venturing diva. She turns and gives him a firm hand shake, "As you
know, I'm Kelly Starrlight." Handing him her picture, she places it on his chest and signs it. "Well, its been
really nice to meet you, Smooch." She kisses the air and walks out, but stops and turns, "Oh, I almost
forgot. Michael came by; it's so sweet meeting basketball stars."  Roy scans his mind; he doesn't remember
anyone named Michael who would know where he lives. "Okay, thanks." Turning as she twitches her tail,
"Bye bye, sweetie, you're so sweet." the pussy cat saunters away.

Roy walks to the garage revealing his repaired corvette; He opens the door and reaches in, the engine
starts. He feels the electricity in the air. He knows something's going on with his body. As he slowly gets in,
he finds a sign of relief that the car holds him up. He figures it out that he's able to shift his weight when
there's electrical current flowing near. His metallic blood reacts with gravity and the magnetic electrostatic
atmosphere.  At the Kodak Theater, he steps out; the valet attendant takes his car. He walks the red carpet
and enters the theater. Inside, the place is jammed packed with photographers, buyers, celebrities and
fashion designers from around the world. Roy reads some of the flashy ads, "Versace, Dries Van Norten,
Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior, Jonathan Saunders, Ya Ya, Gucci; Damn, everybody's here." Roy's able to
hold his weight in his seat, he's getting used to this new method of defying gravity because of the wiring
and plugs under the carpet which helps him levitate. Looking around to see if anyone notices his
movements, a smirk eases across his face; he's found a new toy. The show begins. Across the runway
prances the most beautiful people man has ever seen; they're vampires. Their legs are eloquent and their
skin is like silk. Both the men and women's walks physique is entrancing and captivating. They dance the
dance of exuberance as eyes melt at their will. Roy looks around in the audience, he's surrounded with
people.  There's vampires and canines spread out everywhere who bask in their pool of exotic
entertainments. After the eye peeling show, there's an after party which gets heated up, as onlookers
begin to ravish each other,  while seeking refuge to vent their lust under stage or in private quarters. The
after show features nudes and erotic pleasures unmentionable to virgin ears. The wine splashes the
waves of lustful dainties, engulfing spirits to call their own. The vampires go wild; it's way too much for
virgins eyes.

Across the wine toast is the group of celebrities who's won countless Oscars. Roy spots Starrlight who sits
next to Brad Bledsoe, President of ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He
walks by as she notices and grabs his arm, "Hey honey, Michael came by again, you guys have so much in
common. You should go out sometime." Roy looks edgy, "There's no guy named Michael around here that
knows me and I sure the hell ain't gay, I like girls." Starrlight giggles, "Who said anything about a guy,
Michaels a girl honey, she's pretty and nice, she's really tall, but you know more about those athletes than I
do. I don't really watch the WNBA, but I know I've seen her on television. Maybe she's got a crush on you or
something. You guys should give it a try, she's really sweet, you'll like her." He begins to argue, when a low
grumbling in his ear catches his attention. Roy senses demons and rushes out. It's a black SUV spinning
off into the night. His blood curdles; he rushes the parking tenant to get his car. When the tenant brings
the car around, Roy pulls him out, while throwing a hundred dollar bill out the window. He spins around the
corner, and looks for the SUV; something about it smells bad.

Three hours of tracking leads Roy opposite side of the Foxes Tail Lounge. He spots the SUV. Out steps
three vampire demons and four women who walk inside. This is the second time he's encountered
demon-possessed vampires. He smells them, and counts the odors; there's hundreds of them drinking
blood of innocent victims from the Catwalk. He doesn't care about vampires, but something about these
vampires rubs him the wrong way. He recollects and speaks under his breath, "Not yet." and peels off
breezing through the blood infested air.  Nearing home, the corvette spins around the corner. Roy sees
the dark aura emitting from Starrlight's room. He slams his breaks and jump out; something's amiss.  Her
voice is heard through a muffled mouth, she's being raped. Over the gate flies the gargoyle. He smells the
stench brimstone.

Inside, Starrlight struggles as the stranger reaches his point. With his hand over her mouth, he pushes her
head to the side into the mattress, revealing her jugular. Just as he breaks her skin, "swoop!" he flies
backward into the brick wall cracking it at impact. The dust hits his head as he jumps up and yells,
"Gargoyle!" Roy's eyes light up, it's Brad Bledsoe. He throws several fast punches at Roy's mid section and
face, but is blocked on every twist and turn. Roy's surprised; the vampire's extremely fast and strong.
Bledsoe curses, "Fuck you!" and dashes down the hall into the foyer where he kicks the hinges off the
front door while making his exit. Before Bledsoe makes the corner, Roy pounces him. They roll as Bledsoe
springs up. Bledsoe kicks and sends Roy flying into the bushes. He stands, "It's you, Legion!" He spits and
jackals onto an oncoming car; Legions out of sight.

Roy feels that he could catch the car, but changes his mind on his pursuit. As he returns, he looks at the
door. "Thank God the Gonzales's took the old lady from the upper apartment over their mothers this
weekend." Roy peeks into the door at the curled up movie star. "I better call the cops." Through tears,
"No, no don't, you can't do that." "This mother fucker just raped you, are you kidding me?" "I'll be alright. I
don't want this to get out to the news." He hangs up his cell phone. "No, you're not alright." Roy bends
down and holds out his hand. Wrapped in the sheet, she turns and embraces him, letting out uncontrolled
whimpers, "I don't believe it!" Who would believe that the head of ASCAP raped me? Out of all the people
in the world, it had to be my best friend."  Roy looks at her neck, "Whew" no cuts.  He carries the shocked
Barbie doll up to his apartment. "you can stay here. Do you want me to call anyone?" "No, please don't,
please don't, I don't want anyone to know about this, okay?" Roy doesn't like her idea but agrees, "Okay."
His cell goes off, "Mr. Johnson, the doors busted." It's the security guard. "Oh yeah, Clarence, we're
working on the door, you can have the night off." "Are you sure?" "Yeah, everybody's gone anyway and I'm
having the front redone in the morning anyway." "Okay Mr. Johnson, if you need anything, just give me a
call." "Alright Clarence." The phone hangs up, as the voice of a happy guard leaves the gate and drives
off. She looks at him, "Thanks for sending him away. I don't want anyone to know about it." Roy nods.
Starrlight rambles on for four hours straight. It's amazing how people act when they experience trauma.
She talks it out, and after seven cups of coffee and a few trips to the bathroom, she unwinds through the
talk of how her mother got trapped in the bathroom on the airplane. A snoring sound is heard through
blond hair tucked into her knees. Roy picks her up, lays her on his bed, and tucks in her broken spirit. He
shuts the door and goes into the living room. He leaves a message for Blacksmith to make that steel door
he was talking about, "Oh yeah, and make the knocker into a gargoyle, maybe a lions face and half man or
something...Okay, call me when you get this message." He hangs up.

It's research time. The long hours into the morning and Roy finds little to nothing on Gargoyles. All he
knows is that there's a strong relation to water and Gargoyles. Denial sets in and he begins to think it's all
just a myth. Roy knows why the vampire was there; He feels he's being watched. He thinks about Sarah and
Starrlight, and all those innocent people at the party and in Giza, all because of Dracula and his side kick
Legion, so many die. There's no mistake, something brews inside him; it's anger. He mumbles, "On Monday,
I'm putting an end to this." Los Angeles is at rest, no roses sold, no horns honked by the mid shift traffic.
The birds sing, flowers sway, and even the dust lay. Families gather for feast and fellowship, lost souls find
rest in chapels, and the wino sets his bottle aside and looks up towards the hot Sun which steams away
the morning dew; it's Sunday.

Blacksmith finishes; it's the steel door which displays the new gargoyle-knocker and chime. After gathering
his stuff, Blacksmith begins to pull off. Roy speaks, "Thanks for coming; I owe you for taking your day off
from church service." Blacksmith smiles, "No problem, I always have time for family. If anything else comes
up, just let me know." Roy grins, "Alright man, see you later." He presses the remote, allowing the truck to
leave. Roy peers through the window and waves goodbye to a shook up Starrlight, she's on her way to
New York; she's doing a shoot tomorrow, "Never Bend a Buck Two." The limousine eases off into the day
star of entertainment. His smile goes serious, turning, he marches up to his apartment. When he goes in,
he notices, "Somebody's been in here just now." He looks around, the television remotes moved, it was on
the counter, but now it's on the television. He scans the room, no smell; it wasn't a demon. "What the hell
was in here?"   'Six months later'

After defeating Dracula and Legion, Roy returns to Los Angeles. The owner enters his complex and takes
the winding stairs up to his luxury unit. Glancing up at him is the prettiest blue eyes, with long flowing thick
shiny blond hair; she's sitting on her tush with her knees bent wearing matching Armani mink slippers and
night-gown. "Hey, I saw you pull up, so I decided to meet you before you went in."  "What are you doing
here? I thought you was filming in New York." " No baby, it's been six and a half months and we got done
filming two weeks ago, so I'm back home now awaiting the editing and final cut.  It's you who's been MIA.
The guard told me you've been gone all this time, so after a week when I got back, I started to get
worried."  Roy sets his bag down and goes for his keys in his pocket. Starrlight stands, Roy feels warmth
against his chest, "ummph" with her arms around his neck, his air is taken up by the taste of strawberry
flavored lipstick and a long wet peppermint sweet tongue, with juicy escapades engulfing his mouth. Her
tongue deeply sends electric needles and raises the hairs on the back of his neck. Roy gets an
overwhelming rush. She slowly pulls back with shiny wet lips, "I had to do it and you know why." Her deep
ocean blue's with gazes of hypnotic trance begins to tear up.  Roy slowly nods his head no.  Her soft voice,
"Thank you for keeping this between us. I couldn't wait to see you again. You know, I called you every
Saturday, your voice mail probably has twenty long messages and I'm sure they're all from me." Roy takes a
deep breath and begins, "Kelly Um," She eases her lips onto his and slowly pulls away, and speaks softly
"Don't you do this to me, don't tell me no please. I'm hoping you will invite me in please."  Roy takes a deep
breath as he raises his brows and exhales while nodding, "Okay, just let me get my stuff in and get cleaned
up."  She shifts to the side allotting Roy access to his lock. He pushes the key into the hole and turns. She
stands with her hands behind her back in anticipation and follows behind him while slowly shutting his
door until you hear the latch, "click"...
